Wear solutions engineered by failure mode

Clad plate, impact blocks, high-temperature alloy, matched fasteners and weld consumables, specified against the mechanism that is actually destroying your liner.

How we specify

Hardness is the number everyone quotes and the worst single predictor

Four mechanisms account for almost all liner failures in bulk material handling. Identify the dominant one and the material selection follows.

Mechanism 1

Sliding abrasion

Fine, dry material moving across a surface under low load. Hardness and surface finish dominate; a smooth as-clad face keeps material moving instead of packing.

Mechanism 2

Impact

Large lumps landing from height. A hard overlay alone will crack; the answer is section thickness and geometry, which is where Arcoblock belongs.

Mechanism 3

Corrosion

Moisture, chlorides or process chemistry undercutting the wear face. The overlay must resist the chemistry, not just the abrasive.

Mechanism 4

Thermal

Elevated or cycling temperature softening a conventional overlay. Arcotuff retains hardness where standard chromium carbide plate anneals.
