Pulley lagging & belt scrapers
Conveyor pulley lagging and belt scrapers
Ceramic and rubber pulley lagging, lagged pulleys and conveyor belt scrapers that stop slip, carry-back and spillage. Supplied with our partner Rubbex.
A conveyor loses time at two points: the drive pulley, where the belt slips, and the discharge, where carry-back builds up under the return run. Good lagging and well-set scrapers fix both.
We supply pulley lagging, lagged pulleys and belt scrapers from Rubbex Conveyors, with local support from our team.
Pulley lagging
Lagging increases grip between the belt and the drive pulley and protects the pulley shell from wear. Ceramic lagging gives the highest grip and resists abrasion in wet, dirty conditions; rubber lagging suits lighter duty.
Conveyor belt scrapers
Carry-back is material that sticks to the belt after discharge and falls off along the return run. It builds up on idlers and pulleys, causes mistracking and needs manual cleaning. Primary and secondary scrapers remove it at the head pulley.
What you get
- Less belt slip at the drive
- Less carry-back and spillage
- Cleaner return runs and longer idler life
- Fewer stoppages for manual cleaning

Frequently asked questions
What is pulley lagging?
A layer of rubber or ceramic bonded to a conveyor pulley. It improves grip between belt and pulley and protects the pulley shell from wear.
Ceramic or rubber lagging: which should I use?
Ceramic lagging gives more grip and lasts longer in wet or abrasive conditions, so it suits drive pulleys on heavy-duty conveyors. Rubber lagging suits lighter duty and non-drive pulleys.
What causes conveyor carry-back?
Fine or sticky material that stays on the belt after discharge. Without effective scrapers it drops along the return run, building up on idlers and pulleys.
Do you supply belt scrapers in Hyderabad and across India?
Yes. We supply Rubbex belt cleaners and PU scrapers across India, with support from our Hyderabad office.
