Bend pipes & slurry pipes
Wear resistant slurry pipes and bend pipes
Abrasion resistant slurry pipes, lined bends and fly ash pipes built to last longer where ordinary pipe erodes through.
Pipes rarely wear evenly. The outer curve of a bend takes the full force of the flow, so it erodes through long before the straight runs. A single failed bend can stop a coal, fly ash or slurry line.
We design and fabricate wear resistant bend pipes and supply lined slurry pipe for steel, cement, mining and power plants.
Why slurry pipes and bends wear out
- Erosion on the outer curve of bends, where flow changes direction
- Turbulence at joints, reducers and branches
- Abrasive fines and high solids content in slurry
- High velocity in pneumatic coal and fly ash conveying

Frequently asked questions
Why do bend pipes wear out faster than straight pipes?
At a bend the flow changes direction and particles strike the outer curve, so erosion concentrates there. Lining that zone with wear resistant material makes the bend last as long as the rest of the line.
What is the best lining for slurry pipes?
It depends on the slurry. Polyurethane suits wet, fine abrasive slurry. Wear plate or ceramic suits coarser, harder or hotter material. We specify after reviewing particle size, solids content, velocity and temperature.
Do you make fly ash pipes and bends?
Yes. We supply wear resistant fly ash bends and pipes for power and cement plants.
Can you match our existing pipe layout?
Yes. We fabricate bends and spools to your drawings, flange sizes and bend radii.
Stop losing bends
Send us the line layout and where it fails, and we will design a bend that lasts.
